History of IOT

The concept of adding sensors and intelligence to physical objects was first discussed in the 1980s, when some university students decided to modify a coca cola vending machine to track its contents remotely.

But the technology was bulky and progress was limited.

The term ‘Internet of Things’ was introduced in 1999, by the computer scientist Kevin Ashton while working at Procter & Gamble.

1970: The actual idea of IOT was given.

1980: The first commercial cellular networks are launched, opening up new possibilities for mobile devices and wireless data transmission.
1990: Created a toaster
1995: The first cellular module built for machine to
machine
1999: IOT name given by Mr. Kevin Ashton
2004: The IOT term was famous publications
2005: ITU (International Telecommunication Union)
published
2008: Birth of IOT.

2010: IoT becomes a major force in the consumer market.

2020s: The IoT landscape continues to evolve, with 5G networks beginning to be rolled out and new applications for IoT technologies emerging constantly.
